Scott started the week enjoying Thanksgiving at home in Cheverie, and then was in the constituency and Halifax for meetings for the remainder of the week. The week culminated with an aborted attempt to paddle across Lake Pisiquid in the annual Windsor-West Hants Pumpkin Regatta. A Halifax Daily News report summed it up best: “My best advice for anyone doing this race is to use a pumpkin that floats, laughed Brison.”

And the Week Ahead…..
On Monday, October 15th, Scott heads to Ottawa where Parliament resumes for the fall session. Scott attends his first meeting of the Liberal Party Policies and Planning Committee on Monday following his appointment to the committee by Stephane Dion last week. On Tuesday he meets with the Retail Council of Canada concerning retail prices in Canada following the significant appreciation of the Canadian dollar. The Governor General delivers the Speech from the Throne on Tuesday night and the House of Commons sits Wednesday-Friday. Scott then heads to Alberta for the weekend where he will tour a “first of a kind in North America” master planned solar community in Okotoks (www.dlsc.ca) and attend events for the Liberal Party of Canada – Alberta.
